What cookies are, and what we do about them

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. Some cookies are essential — without them a page cannot remember that you are part-way through a form. Others are optional, and exist so that a website owner can measure what is working or advertise to you later.

Our position is simple. Nothing optional runs until you say yes. When you first arrive you will see a cookie banner. Until you make a choice, only strictly necessary cookies are set. If you decline, we do not load analytics or advertising cookies at all — declining is one click, exactly like accepting.

We do not use cookies to build a profile of your health, and we never share cookie data with care providers, insurers or lenders.

The categories we use

The exact list is shown in the preferences panel of our cookie banner, because it can change when we add or remove a tool. These are the categories and what they are for.

1. Strictly necessary — always active

These make the website function. They cannot be switched off, and they do not need consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.

Session and security cookies set by our website and CRM platform (LeadConnector / HighLevel) so that forms, quizzes and the chat widget work
Bot-protection and load-balancing cookies set by our content delivery network
A cookie that remembers your cookie choices, so we do not ask you again on every page

2. Functional — only if you accept

These remember things that make the site more useful but are not essential.

Remembering how far you got through a longer questionnaire so you can come back to it
Remembering that you have already downloaded a particular guide
Embedded video players used for webinar replays, which set their own cookies once you press play

3. Analytics — only if you accept

These tell us which pages help people and which do not. We look at patterns, not individuals.

4. Advertising and social — only if you accept

These let us measure whether an advert or social post led to a genuine enquiry, and stop us paying to show the same advert to someone who has already contacted us.

If any of these are not currently switched on for our site, they will not appear in the banner. We only list a tool once it is actually in use.

How to change your mind

You are not stuck with the choice you made the first time.

Use the cookie banner. Open it again from the link in the footer of any page and change your preferences. Your new choice takes effect immediately
Use your browser. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Look for Settings, then Privacy. Note that blocking all cookies will break parts of this and most other websites
Opt out of Google Analytics everywhere using the browser add-on Google publishes at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

How long cookies last

Strictly necessary cookies are mostly session cookies and disappear when you close your browser. Our consent cookie lasts 6 months, after which we will ask again. Analytics cookies typically last up to 2 years unless you delete them sooner. Advertising cookies typically last up to 90 days.

Common questions about our cookies

If I decline, will the website still work

Yes. Every guide, calculator, quiz and booking form works with optional cookies switched off. The only things you lose are our ability to measure which pages help people, and our ability to stop showing you an advert you no longer need.

Do you sell cookie data

No. We do not sell, rent or trade any data, including cookie and analytics data.

Do the quizzes and calculators store my answers in a cookie

Only if you asked us to remember your progress, or if you submitted the form and gave us your details. Otherwise your answers stay in your browser for that visit and are gone when you close the tab.

Does the chat widget set cookies

Yes — a strictly necessary one, so that the conversation stays attached to the right person if you move to another page. It does not track you across other websites.
