OUR STANDARDS, AND WHAT WE ARE NOT

What you can hold us to – and the things we will never claim to be

A care guidance practice is trusted or it is nothing. This page sets out who we are registered with, what we are insured for, how we handle your records, what we refuse to do, and the plain rules we work to. If anything here is not true on the day you ask, we will tell you.

Insured for the workProfessional indemnity covering capacity assessments, COP3 and expert reports, LPA preparation, CHC and s.117 representation. Insurer named on request.

An AI assistant answers firstThe chat widget on this site is an AI assistant trained only on these pages. It will never tell you whether someone is eligible for anything, give financial or legal advice, or replace a nurse. Anything that matters is checked by a person before it is relied on, and a safeguarding concern is passed to a person immediately.
“One in three free calls ends with a free route and no sale. We say so because it is true, and because it is the test of whether the advice is independent.”
THE RULES WE WORK TO

Eight plain rules

Free first

Ten free decision checks with no email address. A free 20-minute call with a written note. Nobody pays to find out whether they need to pay.

Fixed fees, in writing

Every fee published on one page, agreed in writing before work starts, with the scope and turnaround stated.

Case screening

We do not take cases we think will lose, and we say so in writing. An appeal we decline costs us money and is the reason families trust the ones we take.

Records, not opinions

Every report is built on the care records, the Framework or the Code, and what we saw. Every call is recorded with consent and summarised.

Say what it is not

Not legal advice. Not financial advice. Not a diagnosis. Not an eligibility decision. The edges are on every service page.

Introduce, never steer

Where a solicitor, adviser or will writer is needed we introduce one, with your permission, and take nothing.

Safeguarding first

If someone is at risk, that comes before the case, the fee and the client. We will say so and act.

Own our mistakes

Complaints go to Samantha, co-founder, within five working days, and to the relevant Ombudsman or the NMC if you are not satisfied. Complaints procedure →

WHAT WE ARE NOT

The boundaries, in one place

What this is not

  • Not solicitors. No probate, deputyship applications, litigation, judicial review or rights of audience. We supply evidence and give it; a solicitor conducts the case.
  • Not financial advisers. No annuities, equity release, investments, pensions or fact-finds. A SOLLA adviser advises; we introduce.
  • Not will writers. Our partner drafts; we assess capacity.
  • Not a care provider. We do not employ, direct or pay carers; that is CQC-regulated personal care and the provider holds the contract.
  • Not an IMCA or IMHA. Those are statutory roles commissioned by councils. We provide independent professional advocacy.
  • Not assessors of testamentary or litigation capacity. Courts prefer a doctor; we introduce one.
  • Not a guarantee. You pay for the work and the written case, never for the result.
How to check usNMC register: search by name at nmc.org.uk. Companies House: 13962703. ICO register: ZB312478. Ask for the insurance schedule and the CPD folder on the free call; we will send them the same day.
